Apple iMac? I've been looking at iMac's for quite some time now. And I have concluded that I do not need a Mac book. So tell me if this iMac will be a good buy... Apple 17-inch iMac (MA590LL/A) APL MA590LLA 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Burns DVDs and CDs 17-inch WXGA+ display Wireless-G/Bluetooth 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM Built-in iSight camera Is it fast enough, big enough screen all that stuff. And will this suit my needs: Music Movies Photos Online Games Editing And all the other media stuff. So all you Mac people out there this is your time to tell me WHY and SHOULD I buy this Mac.

Lindsay G replied: "Here's a review on it"

Truth Seeker replied: "cause they are great and don't play many games. I use both pc and mac, macs are nice but not for games. unless you get a Powermac with an ATI X1900XTX"

mrshinytooth replied: "It sounds like a great computer. I think it would definatly suit your needs as long as you're not trying to edit LARGE scale NTSC format video............for that it's better to go with the towers with multiple procesors and all...............but I think you'll find it will suit your needs a lot better than any PC"

Cranberry replied: "I have a 17" iMac and it's BEAUTIFUL. I love it. It will have plenty of speed & memory for your needs."

joemammysbigguns replied: "You should buy that mac because you don't need any of the thousands upon thousands of software titles that you won't be able to run (at least natively) on your computer that are written for windows."

How do I restore a apple g3 imac bondi blue back it its original factory settings? I recently purchased an Apple Imac and I was wanting to restore it back to its factory settings but I dont know how its so different from windows im a bit confused, thanks for any help!

Chris replied: "You need to use the factory install disks to do a complete factory install. If you don't have the disks, you can get them from the Apple Store for about $20-30 depending on what system you have. Pop 'em in, follow the simple instructions, and you are done!"

How to make my Apple Imac wireless network? Ok, we bought an ipod touch and we don't have a router. We tried using an old lynksys router but it didn't seem to work with our Imac. We have Leopard software and we don't want to buy the apple router because that is much more expensive. What would work or do I have to buy the apple router.

Chris replied: "The Linksys should work with both your iMac and your iPod Touch: I use a Linksys for my home network and it works great on my iMac and iPhone. Did you properly set up the router? I don't mean just plugging it in, did you set up your network? Usually you have to connect it to your computer using an eathernet cable, access the Admin settings on the router, and set up your network. I went to the Linksys web site and searched for my make/model router and was able to download the user's guide in .pdf format. It gives you setp-by-setp instructions on how to set up a WiFi network and it's not very hard. Once you have that set up, unhook your iMac from the router and click the Apple icon, then choose System Preferences. Click on the Network icon and make sure your AirPort card is turned on. Then click the WiFi icon at the top-right of your desktop bar and select the network you just created. Type in the password (or "network key") that you set up, and you should be online! To connect with your iPod Touch just go to Settings and make sure WiFi is turned on, then select your home network and type in the key. It will remember the network and your password so you will automatically connect every time the WiFi network is in range. Enjoy!"

Can the stand from an Apple iMac computer be removed easily and how? Is it possible to remove the stand from the Apple iMac computer. About to move house and for easier packing and transportation would be great to know if the stand attached is easy take off and re-attach?

The Drunken Fool replied: "knowing apple you would have to send it off to have it removed and pay 70 for it. You could take a hammer to it, it's what i would to with all pretentious fashion technology."

greggrunge311 replied: "Apple typically makes everything 20x easier than it is on a PC. If you don't have your box and packing that came with it, I would check the manual if you still have it. When my SuperDrive burned out after many years of use, I checked my manual just for kicks and there was a step by step instruction complete with diagrams of how to go about removing and replacing the SuperDrive without breaking anything. And I had this done in literally a fraction of the time that it would usually take me to do this on a PC (used to build my own before realizing i'd wasted 20+ years constantly fixing PC problems). Usually when I move, my computer is the last thing to get packed, and it's usually seat-belted into the front passenger seat of my car, u-haul truck, etc."

Can anyone tell me a link to a good personal organizer download for Apple iMac? Hello, thank you for trying to answer my question. Basically, I own an Apple iMac - sorry, don't know the model, but it's quite old - and what i need for it is a good personal organizer to store dates, events, contacts etc (a bit like Microsoft Outlook) but I can't find any that are compatible with Apple - they're all Windows compatible! So what I need is a link to a download to a personal organizer compatible with Apple iMac. Thank you :)
